I am in Rio de Janeiro, which appears to be pronounced as in my title by the Cariocas (people who live here, I don~t know why they aren~t called Rio de Janeirians – oh wait, now I do).  I~m borrowing a computer – it is clearly a computer with some sort of crazy Brazilian voodoo put on it, since most of my typical punctuation marks are not what they are supposed to be.  For instance, this is what comes up when you hit the question mark key : It~s been . . . a trip.  I have several more days.  Wireless doesn~t appear to work anywhere for me, so I~ll post…

  • I Won a Major Award!

I recently won a major award. Oh wait, not that.  This: The above is an award currently circulating among bloggers, and Magic Cookie decided I was an interesting enough person that she would bestow it upon me.  Although I like her blog 50% less since she got rid of the dinosaur in her header, I’m so chuffed to be given an award, I’ll link to her regardless. (JUST KIDDING HA HA HA I READ YOU IN GOOGLE READER ANYWAY I DON’T EVEN MISS HIM – >sob<) The rules of the award are as follows: 1. Thank the person who gave you this award. 2. • The Debt Ceiling

. . . is not going to be the topic of this blog post!  Wa-hey!  Did I trick you? Many of the updates in blogs, facebook, email, legal tabloids, and what-have-you are regarding the end of the three day hell that is The Bar Exam, which most law school graduates in most states have just completed.  Now that it’s over, those lucky dogs who have jobs lined up are all talking about their “bar trip.”*  (There aren’t many of those these days.  Far more of my law school friends are talking about living in their parents’ basement.  But let’s not dwell on the negative, eh?)  In addition to my freshly…
