Ribbit
The Angry Redhead has introduced me to the term Lilypads. I first wandered over to her blog when she was cooling it on a lilypad – aka a vacation, a lilypad on the pond of everyday life. Her first blogged lilypad was a diving trip to Belize – she took several other trips that year, taking fantastic pictures along the way, and if you want to while away an hour or three daydreaming about fantastic places (or just ordinary life in Seattle), click on her link and read away. But anyway, advertising for fellow bloggers aside, I like the term. That’s sort of how I view my life – I think…

Listen to this . . .
. . . so my manly musclebound man manhandled the massive new all-in-one washer dryer into the house, without a handtruck, singlehandedly. I was there, wearing gloves, close toed shoes and a sports bra, ostensibly to help but, for practical wimpy reasons, mostly just watching and getting mosquito bites. He did it all alone. Didn’t even yelp, curse, or glare when I crushed his fingers during one of my foiled attempts to assist. Awesome. . . . so we had a shower this weekend. Our friends Debbie and Bo threw it for us, in the neatest Chinese restaurant, and the food and company were incomparable. We also got some…

Bridalville
Let me tell you about my weekend. Friday was uneventful. So we’ll skip it. Saturday, the cat woke me up in time to catch my plane. For once I was pleased to be woken up by the meow alarm – I had set my clock radio an hour late. Don’t want to be late for my flight. I get on the plane and after an uneventful flight land at my connecting airport. All is going great, I head to my gate – and find out the second plane is delayed. I will now be arriving 20 minutes before the wedding starts. I say as much to the desk…

A Very Good Week So Far
Saturday – in Myrtle Beach, staying at the Embassy Suites, as an engagement “get away from the wedding planning” gift from friends. Read books. Sleep on the beach. Do some swimming. Take long walks. See Prairie Home Companion in cinema. Fall asleep c.11pm. Sunday – more of the same. Finish Time Traveler’s Wife, my book club book. The Professor watches World Cup on tv. We eat our packed lunch on the balcony, watching the sea. Fantastic candlelit dinner at a cheesy Polynesian-themed restaurant. Asleep by 9. Monday – early start – up at 5am. Watch the ocean tide from the balcony. It’s still dark. We head out at 5:40. Get to work at 10…

Why Hello There
#1 – I went to Montana the 2nd week of June. I still haven’t recovered from the disappointment of returning. And also the disappointment of not seeing ANY grizzly bears while there (though BFF E and I saw many grizzly bear shaped things, and had some sparkling moments of hope followed by the crash of pissed off disappointment). #2 – It took me most of the week to relax myself and quit thinking about work. #3 – This sad state of affairs prompted me to draft (in my head) a NEW LIFE PLAN. #4 – NEW LIFE PLAN = a. start e-diet on e-diets dot com – (Montana friend E…
