Bringing it back up . . .
Let’s bring the party back up now. Thanks everyone for reading my sad story. It’s a wonderful thing to know that not everybody will react like that doctor did. I am a lucky woman in that my story ended well – or continues well, I suppose, as I’m not dead and gone yet! I have included some photos of what Virgil will look like. And thanks to Circle K Ranch whose photos I stole. This breeder, by the way, is not where we got our dog, but the adult dog in the photo is our puppy’s Dad. One Sentence Story – A Life Changing Event
His name is Virgil, and we bring him home on August 12 – 4 days shy of his 8 week birthday.

The Puppy Place
The puppy place was at the end of a long gravel drive in the middle of North Carolina farm country. The roads were unmarked, so we ended up at the wrong house. The woman who answered her door didn’t even pause – she said “If you’re lookin’ fer dawgs, therr jes’ back out th’ road and hang a left at the fawerk.” (“fork” for those who don’t speak North Carolina Farm Country.) We hung a left at the fawerk and drove slowly up to an absolutely enormous pen, inside of which were hundreds of yipping dachshunds. Hundreds of hundreds. Should we? Or shouldn’t we?
My blog for Wonder Women is up. It’s about my cat. Go figure. This long, glorious weekend at home will give me time to write about our trip West. Since I took no notes and it’s been a couple of weeks since the trip ALREADY, it will probably be a short post as I’ve forgotten much of it. Sigh. Another thing we are doing this weekend, and have been doing for the last several weeks, is debating about whether or not to get a dog.
