Late Nights
They gave us a huge assignment (well, it’s 6:15 pm and we haven’t gotten it yet), and it’s due tomorrow at 9am. They’re trying to make it as real world as possible. OK, cool, but when I’m a lawyer and have to work all night at least I’ll have the money to go buy takeout instead of cook. Take this as a combo statement of excitement and grouchiness.

Boot Camp!
We’re doing an intense, 1-week, practice-oriented class right now. By “we” I mean those of use who chose to make our spring semester more free ‘n’ easy by taking this crazy class right now. The first two, which I took for a grade, went swimmingly. Absent a curve, I’d feel confident I’d gotten As on both, so we’ll see what the curve does to me. I have one remaining. I am within…

Advice Just for You
Even if you have a nagging dry cough that keeps you up at night, it’s not a good idea to take Nyquil during exam week. In other news, I’m sitting here at the table in the reading room feeling slightly drunk, trying to make the words stop swimming on the page, even though I had 8-9 hours of (drugged) sleep last night. No more Nyquil for me! (4 exams to go . . .)

Giving Thanks
On this lovely, warm, twinkling Thanksgiving morning, surrounded by family, hot coffee in hand, warm fire aglow in the corner, I am thankful for all of my many blessings. Attorney at Large wrote a lovely post about being grateful for even those things that don’t feel like blessings, and I thought that it would be a meaningful exercise. 1. I am thankful for the recession, and the ways it has affected my family. I don’t want fear or excessive caution to keep us from relaxing into our next phase of life, but I will appreciate what a recession has taught us: about what we really “need” to get by (and how…
