So – Pantone paint chips are like $30. Did you know that? I ordered a sticker from some cafe press-type website instead. It probably won’t be the exact shade but the perfect is the enemy of the good.
Thursday was Liam’s birthday. At his request, we had burgers and corn on the cob for dinner, cookies and ice cream for his “cake,” and watched Spider Man, Into the Spider Verse on streaming. Now I have two teenagers in the house. It occurred to me the other day to look for a post I knew I had written years ago, when I had two baby boys and was thinking about what it would be like to have two teenaged boys. I can’t believe I found it but I did – April 2010, before Liam was even born, though we knew he was coming. I was so worried about whether they would be good people as teens, whether we would “do it right.”
We built them “in the best way.” My two oldest boys are the teens I dreamed of – minus the soccer cleats. I am not at all worried about who our littlest will become in four years, when he turns 13 (for slightly less than a year we will have THREE teenagers). We five have all done right by each other, and that is all we can ask.
