My kitten Bella is on my lap playing sneak attack with my sleeves, and totally ruining my concentration during this moment of moments – ah ah ah ah aaaah – when I write my first blog entry. My blog addiction has come full circle, I’m now one of you all, you "spaces" people, who are going to lose me my job because you are way more interesting than the construction bizz. Hmmm, let’s see – do sales report, read funny drug counselor experiences – report, read funnies, report, read funnies – now where would you come down? My friend Amanda started this, evil tempter, and now I spend half my day reading about people I don’t know – it has much the appeal of a soap opera, without the comforting knowledge that it’s fiction. I suppose it is fiction, though, in a way – you definitely won’t be seeing pictures of me on a bad hair day, with spinach in my teeth, or during a "fat" month. I’m definitely vetting my photos for dog years, bad lighting, and rough hair cuts (which means, of course, no pictures before 2002). This blog stuff is like the ultimate online quizz – you know the ones, the "if you were a pizza topping, what would you be?" etc. I get to think about the answers before I post them, which is better than real life extemporaneous talking, let me tell you.
So, my first blog entry has got me thinking about firsts, significant and insignificant. A recent first is the first time I held my kitten – this brand new, teeny little thing, all sweet and sleepy, and a little scared. She curls up into a ball and pushes her tiny body up against my stomach, I’m holding her close, entranced . . . and all of a sudden, wham, she goes for the eyes and I get a nice slice along the cheek. Aaah, the first time I held my cat, followed very closely by the first time I dropped my cat. A good lesson to learn, even sweet fluffy things have some CLAWS. And, from her perspective, don’t claw the hand that feeds you, or you’ll have to learn pretty quick to land on all four feet.
Some other firsts: my first "real" job, which I’m still in and not lovin’, I gotta say; my first "professional" acting experience, got paid $85 for five weeks’ work, and it was fantastic; my first time meeting my sister Amanda (I was three, I remember a yellow room . . .). Today I had my first hair cut not in a mall and found the experience somewhat overrated (or at least overpriced), but the jury’s still out on whether it was worth it. And anyway, now I have completed my first blog entry, and I guess the jury’s still out on this one, too.
Yay! I\’ve inspired someone! Your blog is hilarious and entertaining already! I\’ve added you to my favorites. Welcome to my addiction. I can\’t stop blogging and I can\’t stop reading other people\’s either! Fun, fun, fun!
Jury is still out! I saw that one all the time!D
