Now that we’re home, I have had the chance to upload some photos documenting the last few days.
The Ice Palace. Our Northern friends will chuckle, but it is a truly strange sight to see snow on any roof I’ve owned, especially this one. This was taken on our way home from the hospital after the phone call with mean Dr. Ted, just before the sleet got really bad. Don’t know if you can see them, but there are icicles dangling from the roof. The boys shimmy and slide across the ice sheet in their little backyard playground area. (Bonus shot of new playground they got for Christmas.)This is immediately after the birth – they let me get a shower and get into my own clothes right away. I think that my face adequately captures the quiet, happy (and puffy) exhaustion of a new mother. Note the blue leopard print pillow – my birthday present from Jack all those years ago, and, as it turns out, an awesome nursing pillow. We five. The perspective does not flatter me, but one day I’ll crop out my giant knees and maybe frame this. The boys meet.MY HEART. AUGH. Subtitled – taking bets on how soon Craig is in glasses.Craig’s pressies. Daddy bought him an Alabama houndstooth elephant – for our little Alabama native. My work sent flowers, and my MIL sent those boots for Christmas. We brought them to the hospital with us, and everyone remarked on their adorableness.Handsome boysEEEEEK, MY HEART.This was INSIDE ME. No wonder I felt so uncomfortable. Look at those thighs! It’s a blurry shot but my best representation of how expansive this child was at birth. He lost a few ounces before we left the hospital, as babies do, but this was how he looked only a couple of hours after. When the boys first arrived, Jack was more interested in fruit snacks than the baby. Liam, however, hopped right up to hold him.It gets boring in the hospital after a while. Many selfies were taken.Heading out.As soon as we got home, the boys gave Craig their loveys.. . . and then the dog licked him right in the face. So, we got our introduction to the grossest household germs within the first three minutes.Zing went the strings of my heart. This is mah famileee.
The picture of the 3 boys in the hospital brought the biggest grin to my face! The pride they have for their new baby brother is on full display! So happy for all of you. Craig is indeed a chunky, beautiful baby boy. Congrats!

2) All I hear is Virg saying “Come on, just spit up a little. Come on man, just a little. I need a fix.”
3) Heart shattered. Your boys are precious.
