Hey!
I know a new mom or two that read this blog. And this is for them. It’s a wee bit gross. And boring. Unless you’re them. So other folks – don’t read any more.
Today on my final pump of the day, one of my breasts produced bright pink milk. As you can imagine, I freaked out somewhat and immediately googled breastmilk color, and also called my lactation consultant. Well, this is normal. So if it happens to you, don’t freak! If you can’t see a wound on the outside of your nipple, then you have burst some sort of blood vessel internally, but it should heal within hours. The pink milk won’t hurt the baby.
Phew. I thought I had been bit by a radioactive spider or something. Bodies are weird.
Weird! And yet, awesome.
