A Joyfully Chaotic Weekend
I am back in my former home of North Carolina for a visit and to play my old band’s reunion show. The show was scheduled for my seventeenth wedding anniversary, the same night as Jack’s first homecoming dance and the Professor’s first camping trip with the Scout troop he leads (Craig’s age). The logistics of this were not easy, but we worked it all out. I had the teen across the street go pick up the corsage I ordered from the florist and Jack’s date(‘s parents) picked him up and dropped him off. As he was getting ready he needed help so we facetimed so I could help him tie his tie. Liam hung out with the dogs while Jack was at the dance, the Prof came home a little early from camping so the boys only spent one night home alone, and I monitored the logistics via text right up until I got on the stage. We all made it to and from our various places and had a blast, and while the Prof and I spent our anniversary in totally different areas of the country, it could not have been a better representation of our life right now. Joyfully chaotic.
(I have received no pics yet from the campout, so this is an incomplete representation!)
