Home Tour – Part 1 of 2

Our front stoop. Pls to ignore the crap on the porch – they are still messing about with the fireplaces, and those are some leftover fireplace pieces.

A tour through our home, in pictures.  I felt obligated to caption each one, but the captions are neither scintillating nor particularly informative, so feel free to just scroll through the pictures.  This took me over an hour because of The Internet Slowness, so I’ll do the other half another time.

These gas lanterns are from Bevolo – a little New Orleans flare for our Alabama cottage
The front door from the inside
These are the built-ins in our formal living room.
This cabinet will one day house a (very small) tv
The other photo was from a couple of weeks ago – this one I took this morning, after the fireplace was (mostly) finished.  They will come back and arrange the logs better, and also put a piece of wood around that metal bit at the bottom.
This is the entry, with the builtins and tile fireplace to the right and some windows to the left. It is mostly empty, as is most of the house – we’ll add texture over time.
And a view of our main living space, from under that foyer light.
Again, that old photo was from a few weeks ago, and this is from today, after they finally finished this fireplace. Love it. Mantel treatment is by no means settled, but love that stone.
Here is the kitchen. It is small, but open, and the perfect size for my needs. We have ordered a farmhouse table and benches to go under that light in the breakfast nook – from an etsy shop, SO REASONABLE – and I will be thrilled when it gets here because then family dinners ’round the table will go much more smoothly.
Another view of my pretty cucina
Gas range. Love it.
What I see for much of my time at home – I’m a cooking fiend, and so I spend a lot of time in here.
I am 34 years old and at last, I have the pantry of my dreams
