Your birthday dawned bright and fair. We had a houseful of family, and I was pretty ill. I had quite a bit to accomplish that day, and so when your uncle Clif handed me a Zyrtec, I decided to go ahead and take it. It made me thirsty and a bit sleepy, but cleared my head and enabled me to make the best day I could for you.
Given the large number of family guests, we decided to have the party outside on the patio. My mother, Grandpa Chip, and your Aunt Caki strung up crepe paper and some dangly fish decorations, and made a really beautiful party patio for you. Aunt Amanda decorated your chair with crepe paper, and Aunt Erin and Uncle Clif helped me pile presents on the table back there. Caki frosted your cakes, both of them – I made one large layer cake for the family, and one small mini cake for you (used the bottom of 2 muffin cups – it worked perfectly.) We had a lovely lunch of some of your favorite things – eggs (in a quiche type dish,) Goldfish crackers, fruit, and a ginger steak salad that Mommy and Daddy love. Then we brought out your little cake and let you go to town.
To be continued later, because you are crying!
