Taking a three second break from a v. busy work day to say – at my seven millionth postpartum appointment today, I weighed in at 157.5 pounds*, my friends (looking back at my mid-June entry, this means I’ve dropped 5 pounds in 4 weeks.) If that doesn’t deserve a chocolate chip cookie reward**, I don’t know what does.
*I hate to explain myself, but I feel I must include this caveat – I check (and list) my weight as an indicator to myself. I am comparing myself to myself, not to other people, fo shizzle. We all know that health and good body image is more than just the number on the scale and all that jazzmatazz. But, for me, the number on the scale is a good way to keep myself in check. Like, when that number has jumped by 8 pounds or so, I can’t just blame it on my big shoes, you know? Although I’d like to eventually weigh in the 138-143 window and keep it there, my real actual goal is to run a half marathon in November. More on tracking that progress on another, less busy, day.
**Just discovered Kashi Oatmeal Dark Chocolate cookies. Mmmmm, being healthy never tasted so good! Oh, they’re fattening all right, but at least I’m gettin’ my 7 grains of goodness with each fatty bite. I’ve been trying for years to trick my palate into preferring Dark Chocolate over Milk. So far I’ve been unsuccessful, but these cookies just make help me take that leap. Rock on with my bad, bad self.
Put one of those bad boys in a bowl, microwave for 15 seconds, top w/frozen yogurt, and thank me later.
have that cookie…you deserve it…♥~♥ :oD the shortest distance between two people is a smile… :oD ♥~♥
