Grrr

For the first time I got "in trouble" for breastfeeding in public.  I was down a side hall in a low traffic area of the convention center in Nashville, my mother sat on the side of me facing the minimal traffic going by, and I wore a nursing cover.  A convention center employee came up and asked if there was a problem – if had been uncovered earlier?  She was very polite.  She said a man had complained.  I COULD NOT believe it – I was more covered up than I had been before we were nursing, you know?  The employee was great – she went back and told the man I was covered and almost finished, and then checked back with me to make sure we were all ok.  But still.  Puh-leeze, people, my kid is screaming the house down because he needs to eat NOW, what should I do?  Anyone who suggests I go sit on a toilet in the bathroom has (a) never had to nurse a baby – it would be nigh impossible to juggle everything, and (b) Gross!!  A public bathroom?

Grrr.  Had he complained straight to me, I would have been tempted to rip off the cover and go au naturale.  Or however you spell that.  Harumph.

I join you in GRRR.  I hope she told him off as politely as she could.  Seriously!  That is exactly the kind of thing I was talking about a few weeks ago in a post.  You are doing nothing wrong. If you find Trace Adkins in Nashville give him a big kiss from me, K?  Thanks sweetie!

oh, i wish i would\’ve been there.  honestly, i would\’ve walked up to him and given him a piece of my mind.  ever since i birthed my babies, i\’ve been a wee bit more outspoken about things.  this subject would\’ve totally put me over the edge.
