Boo
It’s a hazy, sunless, windless, sticky hot weekend. We’re listless, drifting around the house. I’m taking pictures of nothing in particular. The Professor isn’t feeling well. I’m thinking of ditching him with a bath and some movies and tea, and taking myself on a hike, or I may lose my mind. My high flying mood of Thursday Eve is gone. Late Friday afternoon I slipped in the boss’s office while the Israeli boss was in the loo, and asked how the raise-for-RG talk went. He wrinkled his nose in a “not good” way, and then Israeli boss reappeared and U.S. boss said “See me about that issue Monday.”
Sssssssssssssss. Hear that sound? It’s the sound of the air in my tires deflating.
So I drove home having an imaginary shouting screaming argument with the Israeli-CEO-in-my-mind about all the reasons why they should give me what I want. The Professor and I had already scheduled a date for Friday night to talk about finances, and how to allocate my raise money – which now maybe I’m not getting – but we had the talk anyway. Despite the bad news we tried valiantly to get excited about paying my student loans off early so that when he graduates and his come due we aren’t destitute. Woohoo!! Early repayment! Yessss! And then I started trolling around on Monster, big sigh. I know, I know, wait til Monday and see what he has to say, right? But I have to be ready for bad news. We may, just may, have to sell the cat. I’d miss her, but the big bucks she’d fetch would really help us out. 😉 Well, I think she’s worth big bucks anyway, if the market doesn’t agree!
At least we always have something to eat. If we decide not to sell the cat, we may decide to cook her. She’d feed quite a few people for a long while – just take a look at her! I posted a few recent pictures. She was not feelin’ the fashion model thing, but too bad, Mommy’s bored.
Posted a few other photos, too. We have approximately one trillion tomatoes right now – all homegrown, some by me. I’m getting ready to make a tart out of them. Or ten tarts. Or a tart and tomato stew and some tomato sauce with tomato fricassee and tomato mousse for dessert.
And then in our lovely album we have some pix of Sam’s birthday party. I’m thankful that the cameras got stowed away after the cake and ice cream, so no pictures of my drunken idiocy are available to share.
Think of me Monday. Send good, generous vibes to my Israel bosses, would ya?

i want the name and phone number for this chick/dude who decided that you may not get this raise of yours. seriously, i want it now. there is no doubt in my mind that you are the best HR thing to happen to that company. you deserve a much larger purse to carry home at the end of the pay week. no doubt about it. i hope today brings better news than what is expected.
