Let’s bring the party back up now. Thanks everyone for reading my sad story. It’s a wonderful thing to know that not everybody will react like that doctor did. I am a lucky woman in that my story ended well – or continues well, I suppose, as I’m not dead and gone yet!
I have included some photos of what Virgil will look like. And thanks to Circle K Ranch whose photos I stole. This breeder, by the way, is not where we got our dog, but the adult dog in the photo is our puppy’s Dad.
Virg is a tri-color Pembroke Welsh corgi – although right now he looks something like a little grey vole. When I picked him up at the breeders he was snuggling up in my neck – looking, I’m sure, for something to drink, but it still melted my heart. He’s going to be a handsome fella, and the boy corgis are supposed to be much easier to handle than the more territorial and bossy females. Virg was the only tricolor male at the farm – they’re pretty rare, so we were lucky to find one. We think about him all the time, and since the cat has been particularly bad lately we are pretty excited about screwing up her whole life by introducing some competition for our affection. You want to rip holes in our expensive guest room duvet cover? Chew chunks out of Dad’s expensive foam-mounted map of the U.S. that he loves more than his wife, car, or much else? Rip our office chair to shreds? Haha, we have the last laugh. Bella, meet your new little brother . . . . smirk.*
*Of course we are shooting ourselves in the foot, because who ever heard of a puppy being gentle with the furniture?? Gluttons for punishment, gluttons we are.
Oh my gosh! Adorable!!!
I think the cat is going to get a run for her money! I can\’t wait for the stories!!
Amanda 🙂
