HR Managin',  Sixteen Tons

A Brief Interlude

A short break from recounting the honeymoon in exhaustive detail –

I’ve been on fire at work this week, getting a ton done.  I think it’s the lovely weather outside.  Even though it’s outside and I’m inside, it’s still motivating me.  I’m waking from winter hibernation, shaking off the frost and bursting forth.  Or maybe that’s my crocuses out front – whatever previous homeowner planted those bad boys, thank you.  They are delightful.

This morning, though, I’m foggy.  I took a Tylenol PM last night for a headache – I hate taking any drugs, but it was a bad headache.  This morning I have Tylenol PM hangover – it’s like I can’t blink away the film on my eyes, or shake the clouds out of my head.  I guess that’s OK.  A week of being on fire, I can take a day of being, um, not on fire.

We’ll be attending the Carolina Cup this weekend, down in Camden, SC.  It’s a fun fun horserace, and we are lucky enough to have friends with a tailgating spot right on the finish line, so we get to see lots.  Last year we won a bit of $$, betting amongst the friends – let’s see if we can do it again!  I won’t be buying a new dress this year – I spent my cup dress money on pina coladas on the beach and that is what I MUCH prefer anyway – so I have picked out an old standby that I’ve worn to a few weddings.  We’ll be staying with a friend we haven’t seen in months.  It’s supposed to be warm.  I’m looking forward to this mini-lilypad.

Now, back to being not-on-fire at work.  Have a lovely spring!

Horserace sounds fun! I agree with money for the beach…you can buy clothes any old time.

I take Tylenol Simply Sleep to help knock me out, but my dose is about a quarter of the recommended, for the same \’fog head\’ reason. Ugh. The fog is bad.

So…back to vacay- so glad you liked Skinny Legs!! Also glad that you enjoyed Trunk Bay without the regular mob scene. Yes…there are free beaches on St. John, but Trunk is spectacular, so I\’m glad you went.

I\’m thirdly glad that you heard about the beer drinkin\’ pigs 🙂 I forgot about that, I think it\’s called the Domino Bar, or Club or something. We experienced it – it\’s wacky – can\’t wait to see if you guys made the hike…if I remember correctly it\’s buried in the rainforest…
