I haven’t much time, but I wanted to give a quick hello! The week, in brief:
2 – Number of mornings I took off this week to get ready for company we have coming today
4 – Number of people we have coming to visit today
1 – Number of cats whose nails have been clipped, fur has been brushed, & bum has been swatted for chewing on houseplants
9,276,543 – Number of cat hairs vacuumed up off the beds, chairs, sofas, carpets, floors, ceilings, and clothes
1 – Number of times said vacuum had to be emptied during the vacuuming
8 – Number of hours of sleep we got last night (at last! sweet rest!)
2 – Number of positive reviews of King Lear this week
2 – Number of reviews of King Lear altogether (so, we’re at 100% so far!)
1 – Number of fights I had with a coworker this week
0 – Number of trips to the gym (c’est la vie – I have resigned myself to a winter layer of warming fat, knowing that I will work it all off come spring!)
10 – Number of minutes spent each hour daydreaming about upcoming Virgin Islands honeymoon (two weeks!)
1 – Number of fabulous wedding presents I got from a dear friend – my favorite piece of art – created by her sister – I have longed for it for years – I completely love it
0 – Amount of sodas and sweets that I have eaten this week – yup, that’s what I gave up for Lent. The soda’s been easy so far – but I guess I didn’t realize how often I was reaching for a morsel of sugary goodness to perk up my energy! Because it is killing me to skip out on this stuff! I guess that’s why I do this Lent thing, though I’m not Catholic – to give myself a quick reality check, and make sure I am in control of what I eat, and not the other way around. And also, well, of course, the vanity of being thinner!
