that\’s awesome! the sonnet was beautiful; no wonder it won a prize. congrats!ps. i thought of you the other day b/c i heard "sweet dreams" by the eurhythmics. every time i hear that song, i think of you!
Okay…St Croix – definitely check out Buck Island, you will find people offering a snorkel trip out there, it\’s worth it, beautiful little island – conservation so it\’s untouched. St. Croix is also good to drive around, it\’s the biggest of the Virgin Islands – lots of land and scenery. In Christiansted there\’s a good number of places to eat and hang out, has probably changed since I\’ve been there, but you\’ll have no problem finding food. There is a casino on that island, it\’s amusing if nothing else, just by it\’s tiny size. Unless you guys have a gambling problem that could be something to do with one of your nights. During the day just driving around and hitting beaches will be much fun.
St. John – first things first, probably some of the most beautiful beaches anywhere – must check out Trunk Bay (a little busy), Hawks Nest, Cinnamon Bay, pretty much when you leave town just go left and you\’ll pass all these beaches. Tourists have started migrating over there but it\’s still pretty serene. If you guys like burgers we found this place last time we were there called Skinny Legs…fantastic burgers, true blue local hang out, they have a gift shop…darts…little art gallery, it\’s awesome. The main area of St John is where the ferries land, Skinny Legs is on the other side of the island but you\’ll enjoy the drive. The town is also a great place to meander around, check out the little boutiques. You\’ll love it.
As with any travel though be aware and smart…which I\’m sure you guys are 🙂 Also important, when you greet anyone, store clerk, waitstaff, always say Good Morning (or Afternoon, Evening), it\’s a local thing and you\’ll be rewarded with the same phrase back. It feels funny at first, but it\’s worth it. If I think of anything else I\’ll leave another comment…
