. . . so my manly musclebound man manhandled the massive new all-in-one washer dryer into the house, without a handtruck, singlehandedly. I was there, wearing gloves, close toed shoes and a sports bra, ostensibly to help but, for practical wimpy reasons, mostly just watching and getting mosquito bites. He did it all alone. Didn’t even yelp, curse, or glare when I crushed his fingers during one of my foiled attempts to assist. Awesome.
. . . so we had a shower this weekend. Our friends Debbie and Bo threw it for us, in the neatest Chinese restaurant, and the food and company were incomparable. We also got some of our china. It’s the Alana pattern from Waterford. I love it. I got to wear a wrist corsage at the shower. A WRIST CORSAGE!! It was like I was at prom, only I’m prettier now.
. . . so I had my bachelorette weekend two weeks ago. We had a blast in spite of the absence of one of my maids (for a v. good reason – one can only fly east from Montana so many times in a year before one’s bank account dwindles deep into the red! but we still missed her!) The cabin was so beautiful – a porch amply stocked with rockers and a hot tub; king beds made out of enormous hewn logs; lots of crappy Native American faux art on the walls; a huge kitchen (full of indulgences, it was a naughty weekend calorie wise). All of my sisters, my future sister-in-law, and former college roommate were there. We had a great time splitting logs (surprisingly satisfying), watching Mean Girls (I like that movie), playing drinking games (my 16 year old sister drank cranberry juice out of shot glasses!!), and talking. On Sunday we got massages and facials. It was great.
. . . so I worked on an accounting report for 6 hours today. That sucked.
. . . so I have less than 9 weeks left til the wedding. Whoa! I’d better stop blogging and get back to work!
Oh, I\’m so jealous! That sounded like such a fun girls\’ weekend. 🙂
What a fun girls\’ weekend! I am jealous. It sounds like it was right up your alley and a great time!
Oooh! Shower gifts! YAY! The Alana pattern is one of my favorites. We ended up with something other than Waterford, but all of their stuff is gorgeous! We spent a lot of time oohing and aahing over all the pretty patterns! And wrist corsages are super fun…and I am sure you were gorgeous back in high school and now!
Amanda 🙂
p.s. Men doing manly things always makes me smile.
congrats on a great shower and girls weekend!! sounds like they were both a blast and you got spoiled rotten. you gotta love that! 🙂
ps. did you ever send me the link to your bridal portraits? maybe i just missed it…
Your bach. party sounds fabulously relaxing and just like what I would want (but NOT what I would get). I will inevidibly be up on a stage in some club hopping around with penises attached to my head…after all, that is what we have done to all of our other friends! Ha!
But, a cabin…sounds…wonderful…facials…mmm…
I\’m glad you are having good wedding parties! I can\’t wait for mine to start!
