I Hate Payroll

The payroll processor at your place of work deserves a hug today.  Tell him or her what a great job has been done with payroll so far, and how much you appreciate getting a correct check every pay period.  Expound on the gratitude you feel for the important work this person does.  Give your payroll admin a high five, a smile, a thumbs up.  Go to your local CVS or Food Lion or Nob Hill or Safeway, and buy a little card and some flowers.

 

Signed, me, payroll administrator, at 6:30pm, checking over 1000 data points on our payroll preview to be certain the checks are right.  Running into problems.  Late for salon appointment.  Feeling underappreciated.  Whiny.  Did I mention late?
