Grumpy
Phew I am tired. And grumpy. And I’m simply not going to grump here because no one wants to hear it. Besides I just had a Cadbury Cream Egg and those always turn my frown upside down.
Bella got fixed at last. I am so pleased. She is sort of groggy and quiet, and moving a little gingerly, but she’ll be all healed up soon. Meanwhile, I am enjoying the peaceful nights’ sleep. This weekend I will be a single girl – Manda is going on a road trip with a friend and the Professor is going to a bachelor party in the mountains, so I will have the house to myself. Though I have to work on Sunday, and I have people coming on Saturday to hang my new interior doors (at last!!!!), I will enjoy the remaining quiet time with my kittenista (and a bottle of wine, much much needed bottle of wine – did I say bottle, I meant bottles). Just me and Bellissima – being groggy makes the cat snuggly, and it’s nice to have her sit still on your lap for an hour (I’m sure soon enough she’ll be back to gnawing on my fingers).
As for the wedding – haven’t progressed too much, but the parents are coming to town the week after Easter and we will be hammering out details. Only six months to go. We are inviting about 300 people (both sides have large families, and lots of friends). That’s a lot of favors to glue gun (I don’t know what we’ll do, but it will be a homemade craft most likely). On the brighter side of things – we are getting ready to register! 🙂 Williams Sonoma, here we come!!
What else, what else . . . lately it has been work, wedding, work, wedding, weekend trip, work wedding. Ohh!!! Weekend trip! Right!
Last weekend we went down to the Carolina Cup, a horse race in Camden, SC. It was rockin. I bought a hat and everything, which kept blowing off in the wind so I finally put my hair up in a ponytail. Speaking of ponies – they were very pretty, what little we saw of them. When they pranced in a the beginning, I had to laugh – they sort of side step and cross their legs as they showboat around the course, but they really don’t look graceful at all, and I think of the rattling spines on those poor jockeys. The races were somewhat more exciting, and our pick won the Cup! The Professor and I took home a cool forty bucks.
So, that’s that, my life. When you write it all out, you have to wonder what keeps you so busy! I am enjoying hearing Sugar Mandy’s wedding progress, and ready for my own planning to be done. I can’t wait for the day to come, mostly because I am excited to be the Professor’s wife and see old friends, but also because I am getting tired of thinking and talking about it all the time! I’m sure it makes me tiresome, too. 🙂 Back again in, oh, probably three weeks. Peace out.

Hey Gillian
Just blog surfing – love your update. Man nothing is more excited than getting to register with Williams Sonoma – we finally got one in our city!!! Love it. (Canada – a bit behind)
6 months will fly, but I hope you have fun planning – Big wedding!!!
Enjoy
Nice Girl
You know, I am thinking of completely stopping running and just being known as The Cow Bride. Seriously. People have supplied me with enough retorts for Spitfire that I might actually have to hurl one her way next time she decides to be a snot. I may not be a model size 2 (or 4!!), but I think I am a hottie. 🙂
How gorgeous is The Venetian? It is super swanky — so swanky in fact that we can\’t afford to stay there longer than probably our wedding night! How funny is that?
You will love having some Gillian time. I got my Amanda time last night and I won\’t even tell you what I ate and watched on t.v.! Trash on both accounts. And I loved it!
300 people!? Yowza! I am having a bit of a predicament with that right now. Our chapel only seats 50 and we have zero clue who will actually be able to come. I have a gigantaur family and I want my friends to be there too. So, I am letting my parents figure that out. Since we are having the reception/party back in Indiana after the wedding, I am not going to sweat it. And favors?! -sigh- I just don\’t know if I can be convinced to do any. How horrible a bride am I??? And registering! Cha-ching! I can\’t wait!! We need to get on that ASAP because people are already asking about it. Hello payback time! HA!!
Oh the horses sound gorgeous! I would never be able to be a jockey (of course, I am FAR TOO HEAVY!), but I admire that they work so darn hard and eat so little. Those guys are crazy!
Sounds like you are on a winning path, ladybug! Plus, you have the right idea — marrying Patrick is all that matters. I said to Michael the other night that if no one showed up in Vegas I wouldn\’t care because all that matters is that we get married. I can\’t wait to be his wife. -awww- Gosh, we probably make people want to vomit right now, huh? Don\’t care!!
Amanda 🙂
